Summertime is the hottest time of the year and in the Northern Hemisphere it begins on June 21st. It’s considered an astronomical event known as the summer solstice. It’s marked as the longest day of the year. It’s the season that brings about the feelings of the lazy, hazy days of summer. A much more relaxed time of the year. It’s really not my favorite time of the year although their are things that I do enjoy in the summer such as my favorite which is the long days and also the beach, tanning and dressing lightly. It’s a great time for outdoor activities and entertainment if it’s not too muggy. The mugginess makes you feel a bit lethargic and takes away from your energy so make sure to stay hydrated.
There’s plenty to consider when planning summer events and certain guidelines to follow especially concerning foods and their transports. Make sure you have plenty of ice to keep food at the temperature suitable for consumption. Don’t leave food out in any type of heat especially 75 degrees and higher for a long amount of time. Take foods that can withstand some heat. If possible check to see if there’s an area where there’s shade available when eating outdoors and take an umbrella to cultivate shade to keep the food cool and from getting rancid.
