Healing A Heartbreak

What would bring on a heartache? Apparently there are many reasons that attribute to heartbreaks. Perhaps a lack of love from a parent or parents, any family member, friendship or even a love relationship. When love is not reciprocated, it leaves you feeling sad. That sadness leaves a feeling of deep ache in our hearts that can feel like it’s been shattered into pieces and seems too hard to put back together. Unfortunately, it can turn a warm heart into coldness and feel a need to never walk that path again. Sometimes over sensitivity or a big ego can make it harder to understand why people do what they do. I’m not condoning any bad behavior, I’m merely stating that there’s an underlying reason to ones behavior. Whatever the reason maybe, it’s not about you! Let go and let God and trust in his plans for you. What you lost makes ways for the greatness to enter. And yes you can find happiness if you open your heart after a heart ache. It takes time and patience and it depends on your situation. Below is a list of some heart break healers that may help.

  • Watch your favorite shows that make you laugh.
  • Host a game night.
  • Throw yourself a party.
  • Buy yourself something that you really want.
  • Create a peppy playlist.
  • Go for a walk, run or bike ride.
  • Go to a place you’ve never been before.
  • Text someone whom you enjoy their company that you haven’t hung out with in a long time.
  • Do some volunteer work.
  • Find a fun hobby.
  • Write a journal.
  • Read pleasant literature.
  • And most of all, don’t hang out with people who are miserable because misery loves company.
