The Prideful Spirit

Pride is an exaggerated opinion of one’s own worth and an excessive love of one’s own excellence. Pride is considered one of the seven deadly sins. The three types of pride are dignity, superiority and anxiety. In his pride the wicked does not see him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God (Psalm 10:4). Fear ushers doubt and that is a sin because you’re not allowing Gods path that has been destined for you to be obtained. Your life will definitely be blocked by the blessings he has in store for you. When your blocked, eventually you end up suffering with anxiety, sadness and depression that can lead up to all sorts of other dark and wrong paths.

We all have problems in this world. We’re not perfect and we all suffer or have suffered from fear. Most of us have doubts and all of us have sins. With all that being said, I want to proceed with the meaning of exaggerated opinion and excessive love of one’s own excellence and worth. First know that you’re worth everything to God and loves you immensely. Know that your worth should be validated by God only. Of course, in this world we live in, we look for validation from others. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but it shouldn’t be your end all. When one has such a high opinion of themselves, they are arrogant. Thinking that they’re better than everyone else and become competitive. God’s words are meaningless and people become blindsided; living their lives doing as thou wilt, with no conscience, having no inner feeling of one’s wrongful behavior. No one should ever think they’re better than anyone else. God gave everyone their own special gift that he wants us to share with others so that we can help one another. God states in (Romans 12:16) Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited because in (Mathew 23:12) says, For whoever exalts himself, will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself, will be exalted. It’s nice to have confidence but being overly confident (conceited) is repulsive. Staying balanced is what God wants for us. Everything in moderation. Never look down on anyone especially if you’re doing well. You never know what tomorrow brings. In (Mathew 19:30) Many who are first will be last, any many who are last, shall be first. Meaning people who are beneath you now, may one day be above you. Be grateful for what you have and always wish the best for others. Don’t compare yourself to anyone because you are an original. No two people are a like. Not even twins. You have your own unique gift to share with others. God has many blessings for you so don’t let your pride get in the way of those blessings. The word of God will always lead you. Have fate even in times of struggle. He tests your fate. Have no fear (2 Timothy 1:7) God states, I have given you the Spirit of love, power and a sound mind. And not of fear. Remember that pride goes before a fall. Excessive pride is said to diminish self awareness and can put a person at risk of disaster.

A haughty spirit, is one with a big attitude and acts better than others. People that are disdainful, prideful and obnoxious are an unbearable spirit. A beautiful spirit is the Holy Spirit. The people of God recognize that Spirit. It’s downloads to do the right thing and follow his laws. To be righteous, which means to be right especially in a moral way.

There are ways to overcome pride and getting right with God is the beginning. It’s never too late. God is a forgiving and a loving God. He awaits you with loving arms and will reward you with the Holy Spirit. A spirit that will lead you in the right direction and keep you close to him. May you blessed to find the Holy Spirit. God bless all of you and your families.
