Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year and it occurs on or around September 22nd or 23rd. It’s also referred to as the “fall” which is a shortened version of the 16th century phrase “the fall of the leaves”, describing the season shedding of the leaves from the trees. This is a season when the weather becomes colder, the days become shorter and the leaves turn color. Autumn brings about the feeling of invigoration and coziness. It happens to be my favorite season! The only drawback is the shorter days and hopefully that will change if the Daylight Saving Time goes into affect. I do prefer longer daylight. There are people that are affected by the season change. They can have a condition known as (SAD) Seasonal Affective Disorder. It’s a depression that follows seasonal patterns and typically begins in the fall and continues through the winter months due to less natural sunlight so that’s all the more reason for Daylight Saving Time.
If you’re unaffected by this change, then it can be a magnificent time of the year with such picturesque scenes. There’s so much to enjoy in autumn season and a time that prepares us not only for the winter but also the holiday season that begins in November.
Happy Autumn!
