Angels Among Us

Angels also described as celestial beings are known as messengers of God and guardians of humans. Angel means messenger from the Greek word angelos and also from the Hebrew word malach. Angels are sent to guide and warn us by communicating God’s messages. It’s said that each person is assigned four Hafaza angels, two to keep watch during the day and two during the night. God definitely has angels assigned to us because it states in Mathew 4:6 “He shall give his angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time though dash thy foot against a stone.”

The angels of God are described to be in nine levels and they all act on behalf of God. The highest orders are Seraphim, Cherubim and Ophanim. The middle orders are Dominions, Virtues and Powers. The lowest orders are Principalities, Archangels and Angels. Michael is God’s strongest angel. Michael in the Hebrew language means “Who is like God.” Christians depicted him as a commander, who in his right hand holds a sword in which he attacks the fallen angel Lucifer aka Satan. The first angel of God was Zamariel who is known to be as powerful as he is kind and extremely loyal to God. The three guardian angels are Michael the warrior, Raphael the Guardian and Gabriel the messenger.

Angels are everywhere and their are people who have had experiences with them including myself. The stories that have been described about the angels, give us insight as to how they are always watching over us. The only time they are no longer with you, is when you are no longer with God. At that time, your protection is over and your totally susceptible to Lucifer/Satan and his demons. In some cases, although your not with God, he will have a certain plan to change you and that may lead into an angel encounter. We don’t know his agenda but we know it’s his call. Only he knows whats right for us. Everyone has their own story and path to follow in life.

Going back to the angel stories, I have read many fascinating ones and I would like to share my own story. When I was in college, I had taken a night class. One evening after class, I was driving out of campus and approached a red light. There were cars behind me. The light had turned green and when it did, I heard a male voice, in my right ear telling me don’t move. Well, I froze and didn’t move. The car behind me started to beep and I still wouldn’t move. To my amazement, I saw a jeep come barreling down, went through the red light, which was green for me. I was absolutely stunned. Had I gone through that light, I would probably not be here today to speak about it. The driver was coming down from my left side and I was making a left so she would have crashed into me and killed me instantly. Till this day, when I think about it, I get the chills. Needless to say, the person behind me stopped beeping and was probably shocked themselves. I know that was an angel to guide and protect me. I can never thank God and my angels enough for saving me. They act as God’s warriors, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?” (Mathew 26:53).

Angels are an important part of our journey in life. They’re here to do Gods work and that is to make sure that we are protected and guided. They may appear as other humans, as glorious flashes of light, as a soft and unseen touch or that small voice that often speaks to us in times of crisis. However they appear, they are among us.

Angel Prayer:

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.
