Overcoming Fears

Fear is an unpleasant, distressing emotion usually caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous. It can be a real threat or an imaginary one. There’s also four types of fears that are responses on how our brain keeps us safe in potential danger which are fight, flight, freeze and fawn. Fears bring about feelings of apprehension, anxiety and worries to the point of panic. Fear is not a good feeling. Fears are real and we all face that feeling for whatever circumstances may arise in our daily lives. Sometimes we’re not sure what can trigger these fears. There can be a multitude of reasons. Fear can make make you feel debilitating and prohibit many possibilities. When you’re stuck in the state of fear, nothing good can come of it. All your potential for good becomes eliminated. Fear doesn’t allow you to live out your dream life you deserve to live. Fear can keep you stuck in such a bad state of mind that can cause massive damage not only for yourself but also for people in your environment. Marianne Williamson, an internationally acclaimed author stated “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we’re powerful beyond measure”. So true! Fear results in unpleasant thoughts that are unwelcoming to the soul. Those thoughts derive from the source of darkness which is satan. In (2 Timothy 1:17) “For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind”. We’re all up against some type of fear in our lives and lets face it this world can be a scary place especially today with all the catastrophic world events that are taking place. We must be vigilant and comply with Gods laws. In (Psalm 56:3) “When I am afraid, I will trust in you”. “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is my life, of whom shall I be afraid.” (Psalms 27:1)
